Setup Instructions: 1) Begin by opening the SmartThings App and click on the "+" to add a new device. 2) Pull the battery tab on the sensor to activate it. Ensure that the green light is flashing. 3) Use the app to scan for the device, which will be recognized as "Thing". 4) Open a web browser and navigate to the SmartThings IDE. 5) Access "My Devices" and select the "Thing" device. Scroll to the bottom and click on "Edit". 6) Rename and label the device according to your preference. 7) For the type of device, choose "SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor". It's recommended to avoid selecting "Tyco" for optimal functionality within the SmartThings App. 8) Save your changes by clicking "Update".
